Yoga class was excellent
Yoga class was excellent tonight. I felt flexible and strong. My jumpbacks are improving. I even had one where I surprised myself how far back I extended my legs and how long I stayed hovering over the ground. It sounds weird, but I think everything aligned just right on that one.
Jumpthroughs are getting more consistent, though I’m still dragging my feet. It creates a little fold in my mat. I have to adjust it every so often because my feet pull the cloth mat off of the padded mat beneath it. It distracts me from my practice, which would otherwise flow a little more. I just need more strength to control my legs better.
I’ve been working on three new moves. I think I only have a few left to learn before the end of the primary series. It feels funny that I’m so close to knowing the whole thing. What I know now seemed so long when I learned it. Now it doesn’t seem long at all.
One of the new poses is so tough I have to modify it. It requires you to stick your arms through your legs while in lotus. I don’t have enough room in my lotus to do that. And looking at the size of my legs, I don’t think I ever will. We’ll see.
The other two moves are simple stretches. But they are good for opening up the hips and the inner legs. Those are two of my tight spots.
Tonight, when I went into headstand, I went straight into it. I mean, usually when I go up, I’m not straight and I have to gradually move into a totally vertical position. But tonight, somehow I hit vertical right away. I almost ignored that fact. I was about to start moving my legs (and probably fall) when I realized it. Good thing.
