Time for Tai Chi

I’ve been itching to do some Tai Chi. Seriously, my body has been asking for it. All of this yoga and other workouts are great, but I need something to relax my poor, sore muscles.

I’ve studied before (I have a black sash from one school, but that’s another story) from different teachers. It has been a while since I’ve practiced my forms. (Six months? Wow.) So why not do a Tai Chi retreat next week and bootstrap my practice?

I’ll model it on my at-home yoga retreat that I did a while ago. You’re welcome to participate in any way you like. Blogging about it is encouraged.

Here are daily guidelines for myself:

  • 15 minutes of warmup
  • 30 minutes of form practice
  • 15 minutes standing meditation
  • Blog about it

I’ll also do some applications practice. Tai Chi Chuan is a martial art.

Tai Chi is a lot less popular than yoga, so I might write a lot about the basics of what I’m doing. I actually think I know a bit more about Tai Chi than I do yoga, at least of the internals of it. Feel free to ask any questions.
